The great ballad singer, Marty Robbins, once told us a tale about a wild young cowboy in the West Texas town of El Paso. That handsome cowboy could have easily ridden into Pecos, Texas, just about a hundred miles east, as the vulture flies. The citizens of Pecos make their living working in its oil fields and cotton farms.
